The golden city

Every once in awhile you are in the right place at the right time. We were in our 3rd week of filming the t.v. pilot Doomsday, and part of our day was at Spanish Banks in Vancouver. A golden view of downtown Vancouver, the setting sun to thank.
The week started at the Casa Mia mansion on S.W. Marine in Vancouver. This infamous home has been used for many productions over the years. Click here to learn the history.

only a 20 minute drive from downtown

Looking west out over Burrard Inlet

random, hard to see, stopped at the light take a look at the reflection of my cast vehicle shot.

Not much to show this week, we spent most of it at the studio. Because we are shooting a pilot, I am really limited to what I can post online. So instead, here is a shot of my Ahi Poke bowl I had at Craft Beer Market in Olympic Village.

Its been a long time since me and the kids have gotten together with my brother and his girls. Good times!
Online this week, not much to see here?

Once bitten , twice shy?

What have we become????

Learn from this dog.

1. When pigs can fly.......
2. what goes up, must come down.

uhhhh, to me, not so funny

yup

go big or go home

??? Really?

let's hope no one comes home right now

trust level above my pay grade

Never mind the obvious, who would leave their feet in a puddle of water anyways?

Well if one goes down , you can bet the other is going down with him

Thinking outside of the box???

Doomsday pilot, week 2

Week 2 of a 17 day shoot on the ABC television pilot "Doomsday." Another early start, but a great view of downtown Vancouver

still awesome even in the daylight
We were in Gastown today, shooting on the street and inside on of the buildings.

This pilot is set in many cities in the United States, today Washington, D.C.

Port of Vancouver pic

Waiting for cast to arrive at Vancouver International airport.
Later in the week we were on Mitchell Island, used mainly for industry. Behind our set I spotted this log boom on the Fraser River.

The scene was a construction site. I think something shady is going on, a helicopter lands, and people in a Porsche and a 400,000 dollar Bentley Suv await.

Later that day we went to a hanger at the airport South Terminal. They used this body of a helicopter for the scene. Set against a green screen, they can make the background look like whatever they need it to be.

I think the cast was having fun hanging out in there
Across the street a gorgeous sunset on the Fraser River.

The next day we took over the Starlight Casino in New Westminster for the first part of the day.

This show is on the road every day. Today we were back downtown Vancouver. Our base camp was back on familiar ground across from Science world, leftover from the World's Fair in 1986

We started the day at the iconic Marine building on the corner of Burrard and Hastings.

I love the way it stands out against all of the newer buildings.

Look up, look waaaayyyyyy up!

Later that day we went to British Properties in West Vancouver. The mansion we were shooting at was one of hundreds up there, OMG!
Cell phone camera cannot capture the awe of the view of downtown Vancouver.

we finished the week at an office building near Metrotown in Burnaby.

but because this show has no home, we had to move all the trucks later that day to a lot by the Milltown Marina on the border of Vancouver and Richmond. We will be shooting in the area tomorrow.

end of a long week random, my shoes all over, shot
hmnnnn must be a reason here, I'll try not to let my imagination run too wild.

I am open to hear the thought process on this

who's not a happy boy.....

that would be a very nice commute

uhhh, that a little drastic, keep an eye on this guy

wow, smart thinking or what? (keep an eye on your blood sugar levels, please)

what would your thoughts be if that was you?

now there's a throne
